The purpose of this assignment is to explore evidence-based data, inquiry, and application in nursing practice. This assignment helps cultivate a compelling clinical question and incorporate search strategies to find relevant evidence as it relates to your APN/APRN role.
• Introduce the reader to the content of this paper with an introductory paragraph.
• PICOT: Create a clinical question in PICOT format of interest to you in your APN/APRN role.
• Databases: Provide an overview of 3-4 databases applicable to your clinical question with a rationale.
• Evidence-Based Inquiry: Address how evidence-based data and inquiry into clinical practice impacts change for better outcomes. Be specific to your PICOT question and support for your topic. Use the four research articles that you identified for your annotated bibliography for your references in this section.
• Finish your paper with a concluding paragraph regarding the examination of key elements of evidence-based practice.
• Annotated Bibliography: This is a significant portion of the paper. Instead of a typical reference page you will write an annotated bibliography and include the following content. Provide four research articles. In the form of an annotated bibliography:
○ Identify the study type according to the Hierarchy of Evidence.
○ Identify the evidence-based data used in the study.
○ Discuss the findings from each article with regard to supporting clinical practice via evidence and inquiry.
○ Address how each article is related to your chosen clinical question using the format of an annotated bibliography.
○ This content will be one paragraph each and may take up ½ page each.
• The paper should be 3–5 pages in length, not including title and reference pages.
